Regional Chief Medical Officer

Summary

Provides leadership and direction to all physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs) in their designated market to ensure the delivery of consistent quality medical care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and leadership to AFC physicians and APPs
  • Maintain involvement in all aspects of provider recruitment activities and provider scheduling in conjunction with the market operational director and VP.
  • Collaboration and training of APPs
  • Maintain and communicate standards of care consistent with company philosophy and provider community standards
  • Monitor, report and discuss with providers individual performance and conformance with company expectations on a regular basis
  • Serve as a model of professional care in all matters, especially in the diagnosis and management of disease
  • Investigate and address patient complaints regarding quality-of-care issues
  • Serve as lab director to the maximum allowed by state of AFC centers

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • 50% of time will be scheduled as a clinical provider, 50% dedicated to CMO duties
  • As appropriate, serve as company representative to media and community regarding current medical issues
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • Board-eligible or board-certified with M.D. or D.O. degree
  • Current medical licensure in appropriate states
  • Five years of clinical experience
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with current medical issues, trends and practices and legal issues and trends which impact the medical community
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills including listening, negotiation, persuasion, collaboration and conflict resolution skills
  • In-depth understanding of claims practices regarding coding
  • Demonstrated ability to present to provider, clinical, business, and public audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with providers and operational leaders
  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing
  • Data analysis skills, proficiency in current EMR and Microsoft Office
